As I sat today, reading and snacking on quarantine food, I began to think about how I could be an encouragement to somebody else today. As I pursued God, to see what the word might be that could possibly provoke someone to move forward, the word that kept coming was preparation. I don’t know if this is for anybody except me, but I want to share just in case.
As I navigate this time during the Coronavirus, I look for positive and empowering messages that will help me to process what I’m experiencing. I was taken back to a few days ago, to a tweet where Rev. Dr. William Barber was talking about being quarantined and posed a questioned that has not let go of me. He asked, “If this is how Jesus approached his 6 weeks in isolation, could it be that it is how we should spend ours?” My take…Jesus was being prepared to fulfill his assignment. He went into a wilderness place. He went through a time where he was tempted by the enemy. He went through being denied and betrayed. He went through a period of uncertainty and seeking. He came to a place where he said, “Nevertheless, not my will, but thine!”
I sat with Dr. Barber’s question and I’ve prayed about what it means for me. I believe that this time is a period of preparation for me. I believe it is a time where I sit with what God has planned for my life on the other side of this pandemic. Could it be that I’m not the only one? Could this be a time where we are being invited into a deeper relationship of trust with the Creator of the Universe? Could it be that we are to dream really big during this time and truly begin to write the vision and make it plain? Could this be a time that we surrender our agenda to God’s plan? Just think about it!
I believe it is a time that we prepare to be amazed; a time that we begin to get ready for what God wants to do; and a time to move into answered prayers. The Lord has not forgotten, nor forsaken us! Whatever comes from this time of isolation, I want to be ready and I want you to be ready too!
Exodus 23:20
See, I am sending an angel before you, to keep you on your way and to be your guide into the place which I have made ready for you.
Take good care of you!!!
