How often do we say, “it is well” when we are not? There are many places in our life where we have been encouraged to stuff how we feel. So, we say we are blessed, we are fine, or we are okay. Horatio Spafford, who wrote “It is Well with My Soul” lost 5 children to tragedy and somehow was able to pen the lyrics “it is well”. I am amazed by the strength of those who face tragedy and present as stable. I am also concerned with those do not give themselves permission to embrace their authentic emotions out of fear of what others may think.
Sometimes We are Not Well
If we are completely honest, 2020 has dealt us a hand that has taken us off course. In many ways, 2020 has also put us on several different courses. Our Zoom call will look at the impact of COVID-19, racial, social and political unrest in our lives and communities. We will process how sometimes it is well, but we are not, and know that it is okay. Please join us,Thursday, October 1, 2020 at 7:00 pm as we have honest conversation and prayerfully look at how we are really feeling in this year of uncertainty and unrest!
